Our Petition:
|
We the undersigned oppose the construction of the Dominion Virginia Power Company's proposed Garrisonville 230 kV Line power transmission line as currently proposed through highly populated northern Stafford County.
We believe that there is a win/win solution that provides electric power to our growing area by acting on other alternate proposals. We believe that (1) the power lines should either be buried throughout the proposed route, or (2) the line should be routed through rural areas of the county that minimizes the Health, Safety, Environmental, and Economic impacts to Stafford County residents.
The current proposed route is not an appropriate location for any type of high voltage power transmission towers. We believe that high voltage electric transmission aerial lines have no place crossing over parks, school yards, play grounds, ball fields, near our churches and schools, or through our subdivisions.
