865 homes and 5 Stafford schools are at risk. Towering Concerns is a citizen coalition that seeks to EDUCATE the public about the North Anna Brister (Kraken Loop) and work with Dominion to MOVE and/or MITIGATE its negative effects.

About Kraken Loop / North Anna Brister

  • The Kraken / North Anna Brister is a monstrous, 120 foot wide clear cut corridor that cuts across the entire length of Stafford County. That’s almost as wide as I-95!
  • The Kraken Loop / North Anna Brister proprosal includes two high voltage power lines. The plan includes 170 foot monopole towers carrying 500 kV and a 230 kV lines to provide power redundancy to AI data centers outside Stafford County.
  • These high voltage power lines are set to pass within 45 feet of homes and properties throughout Stafford.
  • The Kraken Blister is proposed to pass through the properties of 864 homes in Stafford County.
  • The Kraken Blister is proposed to pass over home plate at Rodney Thompson Middle School, which will result in that field’s demolition.
  • The Kraken Blister will cause the demolishing of the running track at Mountain View High School.
  • The Kraken’s poles are so high and so close to homes that HUD rules about nuisance power lines will come into effect, meaning that many property owners will be unable to sell or buy homes on the proposed route.
  • The Kraken Blister is proposed to pass through Autumn Ridge Park.
  • Dominion Energy is a financially failing company with a “Negative” credit rating from Moody’s, according to its own investor page in November 2025.
  • Dominion’s other smaller projects are loosing hundreds of millions of dollars. Will Stafford end up paying for the Kraken when Dominion collapses?

Important Dates

Unfortunately, if you missed the short, one hour long online meeting with Dominion Energy on Monday, November 10, held during work hours (during which the speaker did not display the slideshow he referenced and mobile users could not submit questions), you will not have an opportunity to connect with Dominion in a group setting to hear what questions and concerns your fellow citizens have. Dominion has informed the Stafford community they will NOT hold any community-wide meetings.

Dominion Energy does not want to hear from us, but will will speak anyway. Here are some upcoming dates you need to be aware of:

  • April -June 2026 July- Aug 2026 — Kraken Loop Project to be filed with Virginia SCC
  • Construction to begin 2027
  • Towering Concerns meetings, Dominion Energy meetings, and important meetings at the Board of Supervisors are shown below. Sync the calendar with your phone and never miss an opportunity to speak out.
